After the excitement of the first semi finals with Susan Boyle, we settle into more of an unknown routine with the second set of performers tonight. A great line-up with three fantastic talented acts to watch for: Flawless, Jamie Pugh, the singing Welshman who could be the major upset in the competition, and Shaun Smith whose voice is just so electric for his young age.
All three of them deserve to go through to the Finals but, sadly, only two can go forward. The big question will be, which ones will shine tonight? Take your ringside seat for great entertainment.
Tonight's perfomers in preference order:
Flawless, -street dance troupe, aged 20-30, London: Appeal factor 10 - Winning Chance 1An amazing dance troupe who will just have you mesmerised from the first few steps. Incredibly synchronised movements done in a truly flawless way! Certainly my favourites.
Jamie Pugh - singer, aged 37, Blackwood, Gwent: Appeal factor 9 - Winning Chance 1
Jamie must go down as one of the least confident men around. He cries at the drop of a hat because he never knew he would ever get this chance and cannot believe it. Wales will be proud tonight to see one of its countrymen performing so wonderfully. This pizza deliveryman could have a few surprises in store for us. A very understated and exciting singer. Susan Boyle, watch out!
Shaun Smith -singer, aged 17, Lichfield: Appeal factor 10 - Winning Chance 3
It's difficult to believe that this young man is only 17. Incredible voice and great potential. Definitely one to watch.
Merlin Cadogan- escapologist, aged 34, Barnstaple: Appeal factor 8 - Winning Chance 4
Merlin is an escapologist. Very entertaining but can't see this one really going through. No doubt the exposure will get him some gigs.
Gareth Oliver- comedy impersonator, aged 28, from Halifax: Appeal factor 8 - Winning Chance 5
Funny ventriloquist with an Asian twist! This is a guy is certainly different. I still can't seem him as a winner performing in front of the Queen but he'll attract other attention, surely.
Hot Honeyz - dance troupe, aged 18-25, Maidstone - Appeal factor 9 - Winning Chance 6
Good act, but nothing really outstanding which one hasn't seen before, unless they introduce something unexpected.
DJ Talent - rapper, aged 30, London: Appeal factor 6 - Winning Chance 7
This is an absolute waste of a space which many others could have benefited from! He has not a hope in hell of winning. I guess he just adds variety but many other acts who didn't make it must be seething with anger.
Mama Trish (aka Peter Coghlan) - drag act, aged 48, Stafford: Appeal factor 3 - Winning Chance 8
Oh my goodness! No words I have can describe this gruesome act which must be seen for yourself. If this goes through I'll eat my hat!

Results 2- Slick street dancers, Flawless, were perfect on the night!
The second semi-final got off to a really shaky start (especially after last night's great opening) with the three weakest acts appearing first. However, it livened up when Jamie Pugh made his appearance. He was clearly overcome by nerves but he sang a good song, especially towards the end. It was a little disappointing when he didn't qualify for the final but it is all about giving it the best on the night: that one chance, and, sadly, he missed it.
Instead, an incredible street dance group rocked the audience with their performance and sailed into the final. Flawless just blew the audience away with their military dance routine and rightly became the public's top favourite. They could feel justly proud of that very skilled display.
The other two acts with the most public votes had to face the judges. Shaun Smith who sang his heart out for his tender age was up against Gareth Oliver, a very entertaining ventriloquist who was on top form too. The judges were divided on who should go through but Amanda had the difficult choice of picking Shaun Smith who joined Flawless in the Final on May 30th, 2009.
This was not an unforgettable night by any means, but it certainly was entertaining - and even breathtaking - in many parts of it. The Final is building up to a cracking finale.
